Time: Meet at 8.25Am for aN 8:30pm departure
Where: FESTIVAL THEATRE car park
DISTANCE: WINTER: +/- 35 MILES/56 KILOMetres
SUMMER +/- 50 MILES/80 kilometres
The main event of the week is the Sunday club road ride starting at 08:30am. Open to all members, riders assemble in the Chichester Festival car park at 08:25am for a ride briefing. Run throughout the year subject to weather conditions, rides are adjusted for the seasons - shorter during the winter and longer and more adventurous during the finer months.
If you want to get a feel for the rides and the club before joining, or if you are visiting the local area and fancy a ride, you are welcome to join up to three CCR rides in advance of becoming a member. Advance notice via social media is preferred but not essential.
We try to offer two rides with differing speeds. A development group ride averaging 16mph+ over varied terrain and longer route, and then a more social group with a shorter route, averaging about 14/15mph. Groups are split if greater than 12 riders (still meeting at the coffee stop). Rides are non-drop with an emphasis on the more social aspect of cycling, it is Sunday after all!
Riders are welcome to challenge themselves on route sections (e.g. hill climbs) but must acknowledge their intention to the ride leader and wait to regroup. On rare occasions, rides may be cancelled if riding conditions are adjudged to be unsafe. If so, notice will be given in advance via Spond.
